Christmas Gift Guide 2025!

HO HO OH NO! Christmas is coming FAR too quickly! And I don’t know about you, but I still have some gifts to get!

Perhaps the young (or young-at-heart) members of your family really like fun techy gifts but you have no clue where to even start? Luckily for you we here at The Code Zone have compiled a fun list of items we think tech lovers would love!

1. Raspberry Pi

No, this is not a tasty pastry, this is a small computer made with coding and electronics projects in mind! Made to be cheaper than your usual budget laptop or computer they’re a great place to start with any fun ideas that you want to do! 

2. BBC MicroBit

This is similar to the Raspberry Pi, being a microcomputer made for coding and electrical projects! This one may be a little nicer for younger and less capable coders due to having a more limited scope and being usable with Microsoft Makecode (something we use here in our sessions!)

3. Makedo Discover Kit

As a kid I used to LOVE making things with cardboard (not gonna lie to you all, I still do) and this is something that I would have very much enjoyed. Makedo sell child safe tools and kits to help young people build excellent things out of cardboard! While not specifically coding related, many coders also enjoy the act of making! (and perhaps combined with other things on the list they could even make cool things that work with the code!)

4. Code The Classics

This neat book holds everything we could need to recreate classic games using Python! Inside you’ll find instructions, tips, and trivia about some of these classic games, all while providing you with all the knowledge you need to build them yourself!

5. The Code Zone

This one may feel a little self fulfilling BUT we genuinely believe that every child benefits from knowing at least a little bit about how to code. With our STEM certified mentors we can say that we (and several other people, check out those reviews and awards!) think that we provide a GREAT place for learning the basics of coding!
