All About Our Mentor's Role In Clubs!

Here at The Code Zone, our mentors are at the core of what we do. Whether you join our live Game Dev Clubs to chat with your mentor every week or you receive regular video messages from your mentor in Game Dev Academy, we’re passionate about making sure that all of our members receive the support they need to progress on their coding journey. 

This week, we’re here to tell you all about the role our mentors play in clubs and what exactly they do to make our clubs so much fun!

Introducing New Members to The Code Zone


When you log in for your first session, your mentor will be there to meet you 15 minutes before the other members join. This means you’ll have lots of time to chat about your favourite video games, ask them any questions, and they’ll give you a tour of our platform!

This means that when the club opens for the other members, you’ll already have all of the tools you’ll need to hack, mod, and transform your own games. Plus, at the end of your session they’ll send you a personalised video chatting about all the awesome code you built!


Fixing Bugs

Have you built your own custom hack that isn’t working in the way you expected? Have you tried to play your game but it just won’t start? Are you struggling to find the next coding block that you need? Never fear, your mentor is here to help!

Running into bugs is an unavoidable part of any coder’s journey, but our mentors are always on hand to help you fix them. Not only that, but our mentors are always excited to share why the bug occurred which means that you’ll know how to fix it if it pops up again in the future. 


Personalised Learning

At The Code Zone, when you sign up for a club you’ll join the same mentor every single week. This means that our mentors are able to get to know the members in their clubs and understand specific areas where their club members may need an extra helping hand. 

Not only that, but each of our mentors bring their own unique flair to their clubs! They are always keen to share ideas with each other so that every session is a fun and exciting way of learning how to code. 


As you can see, our mentors are an incredibly important part of The Code Zone. They’re responsible for introducing new members, helping with coding problems, and helping each individual member to get the most out of our clubs.
