Looking for summer holiday activities that you can join from anywhere? Game Dev Summer Camp, for ages 6 to 16, is the ultimate way to have fun while developing new coding skills!

Every day, you’ll get access to a new game to play and it’ll be up to you to hack it. From alien invasions to paintball duels, every day is a new opportunity for you to get creative and build lifelong coding and problem-solving skills.

When you join Game Dev Summer Camp, you’ll be joining a welcoming community and you’ll be supported by expert coding mentors through video messages and our text chat. Whether you already know your way around Scratch, or you’re a complete beginner, we’ll be here to help!

Dates: 4th Aug to 8th Aug / 11th Aug to 15th Aug

Pricing: £25 for new members, £20 for existing members of The Code Zone

Includes all 5 days of activities, daily videos and extensive mentor support.

New Game Every Day

Every day you’ll work on a new game, and our mentors will send you videos in the morning showing you how to play the game and walking you through the hacks that you can build. On the final day, you’ll take part in a Game Jam where you’ll be able to build your own game!

Your mentors will be around all day to give you a helping hand when you need it. Plus, every afternoon your mentors will send you a video showing off the cool games that members of Game Dev Summer Camp have made that day!

Learn to Code with Extensive Mentor Support

Starting with the beginner friendly Scratch before moving onto the more advanced Python and Typescript, members of Game Dev Club learn to code with extensive support from a STEM Certified mentor. Learn to code by joining our inclusive online live clubs and hacking a new game every single week!

We're here to help!
To join Game Dev Summer Camp you’ll need an internet connection, a computer or laptop, and access to a browser (such as Google Chrome). You’ll need a device that has a screen size of 12.9” or larger, and we recommend using a mouse over a trackpad.
Our mentors are on hand to help all of our members, regardless of skill level. This means that we can send over extra challenges for those who are already familiar with Scratch to help them develop their creativity and coding skills even further.
A Game Jam is an opportunity for our members to make their own games! We’ll provide the theme, and the rest is up to you. Need some help building your code? Just pop over a message to our mentors.
If you loved Game Dev Summer Camp, the fun doesn’t have to stop there! If you want to have even more fun hacking and playing games, you can join Game Dev Club or Game Dev Academy any time. Just get in touch and we’ll help you get signed up :)
Game Dev Summer Camp is suitable for ages 6-16, however we advise that children younger than 8 will need support from a parent or guardian. Children aged 8+ can work independently.
Every day your child will access a new Scratch game, and our mentors will send over a video every day at 10am explaining how the game works. It’s up to your child to hack and customise the game, and we’ll be online all day to offer support if they get stuck.

Every afternoon, your mentors will send you a video showing off the cool games that members worked on that day!The final day will be a Game Jam! This is where your child will make their own game based on a provided theme, and our mentors will be there to help with any coding questions :)
